Two Socks

Ever since I was little, my sister was in love with horses. But I can’t say that I really was too much. As I got older, though, I realized how awesome horses really are and started liking them more.

At the time we didn’t have any horses because we lived in town. Finally we moved to a beautiful little farm nestled in a valley. As soon as we moved there, my Dad bought us a little Shetland/Arabian pony. His name was “Mr. Ed”. My sister would get up early in the mornings and ride him all around the pasture bareback! I, on the other hand, was too scared to ride him because he was pretty spunky! Then someone asked to buy him when he wasn’t even for sale! Since we were new to horse-keeping “Mr. Ed” had become the boss, so we decided to sell him.

After he was sold, we sometimes would go to a stable to ride. But it wasn’t very often, maybe once or twice a year. Even so my sister and I enjoyed every bit of it!

My family decided to move again and buy a bigger farm. After we were there for about a month, my sister got her first horse. Then I got mine, a cute little 2-year-old gelding! Since then I have learned a lot more about caring for and riding a horse properly. I ride him western and we go for lots of trail rides together. This summer I plan on teaching him how to jump. But as it stands for now “Two-Socks” and I are BEST BUDDIES!

I am really horse crazy now too!
